Circuitous
The Wisconsin State Journal today ran an amusing feature article on local bloggers. Though it was perhaps a touch light on references (the Isthmus was more thorough in a recent thedailypage.com post), the article makes for an amusing introduction into the cyber community.
The featured photo, on the paper's front page, is of Ann Althouse. And for those who follow her blog, the whole thing has a delightfully bizarre feel to it. On Friday, during the actual photo shoot, she wrote:
"If you want me to do anything more exciting, just let me know."
I say to the guy who's here right now taking a picture of me blogging for the local newspaper. He set up some lights, he said, to make the photograph interesting with the lighting because, "just a gal sitting at a computer isn't very interesting."
"I'm blogging about the fact that you're taking my picture."
"Oh, my goodness."
(The first line is actually her post's headline.)
The post itself is referenced in the newspaper's caption (which you can see on the online PDF).
And, just to bring things full circle, Ms. Althouse blogged on the article today. So, to review, Ms. Alhouse's blog entry today is about an article from today that is partially about a blog entry of hers from Friday that is about the article itself being written about her blog (among other things).
Dizzy yet?
It's all a little too post-modern for me.
