Democratic cannibalism

The Sowande Omokunde trial has officially turned from being merely shameful to an outright indictment of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. According to Court TV:

A Democratic political consultant for the 2004 John Kerry presidential bid told jurors Tuesday that the five campaign workers accused of slashing the tires of vans rented by Republicans on Election Day boasted about the stunt.

Apparenrly Mr. Omokunde, Rep. Gwen Moore's son, got a real high out of allegedly slashing the tires of GOP get-out-the-vote vehicles, with the same witness testifying:

They were boisterous, slapping high-fives, laughing and so forth ...

While it is relieving to see this report coming from Court TV, as such is indicative of the national media finally catching on to the massive election fraud allegedly perpetrated by a Democratic congressman's own son, it is also in a way disheartening that Court TV seems to be the most notable of the national outlets to pick up on this story.

Why is is that I suspect if a Republican congressman's son were on trial for a similar crime, the New York Times would dispatch a reporter?

I realize that there are always allegations of voter fraud and that many of them, dating back to President Kennedy's Chicago turnout, are probably meritorious. But how often are things so clear cut? How often are Democratic consultants testifying against their own side because the crime is so egregious? How often is an actual elected member of the federal government so close to the crime?

That Ms. Moore can remain in office through all of this continues to amaze me. But, then again, in a state where the top law enforcement officer can get all boozed up and go joy riding in a state-owned vehicle, I suppose to expect anything less of members of her own party might be disingenuous.

The NYT would dispense a reporter? Come now, you know better than that. If the NYT had proof or had a scheduled trial of Republucan operatives (remember the five were EMPLOYEES of the Kerry campaign) they would of opened a field office in Milwaukee and staffed it with five full time reporters.

CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC & MSNBC would of set up a full time local staff as well. Fox News would of had people on the scene attacking the prosecutors as Democrat partisans.

Sly would of most likely killed himself from elevated blood pressure screaming about the length of time it took to get these vile oppressors to justice.

Let us not forget Al Sharpton, Jessee Jackson and Louis Farrakhan each in the area screaming at the top of their lungs about the opression of the black vote by Bush operatives. And of course the aforementioned cameras would of happily obliged.

You are clearly on the correct track, however the scope is way too small.
