A low point for the NCAA
The University of Florida has just won the NCAA basketball championship. It was a great game and the team certainly earned the victory.
As CBS conducted the beginning of its post-game show, one of the commentators directed a question to the winning players. Joakim Noah, arguably the Gators’ most recognizable star, answered first, declaring:
We’re going to shine all day, all night. Please don’t be mad at us if we don’t do a little homework in the next couple weeks; because we’re going to shine in Gainesville.
Another player chirped in shortly thereafter:
America want [sic] to see us live, not work.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what is wrong with big time collegiate athletics today.

Oh come on...first of all you have to realize that they (especially Noah) are going to be very busy with promotions and public appearences in the next few weeks that it probably will be difficult for them to keep up with homework. Can you not let them have their one shining moment and revel in their glory for a few moments, they worked hard and deserved that win.
Some people can just never be happy for other people or have a sense of humor
He can have his glory, but he can do his school work at the same time. Now that he doesn't have to practice for hours a day, and travel all the time for games, he has plenty of time to dedicate to his work and extra curriculars(including promos, etc). Mac is right, these guys personify an image that is screwing up many young Americans who think they can do the same.
Of course Mac would try to find a way to ruin the moment. UF deserved that win, I concur with anon...at least try to have a sense of humor with what they said
