[...] As I venture toward Prince Edward Island, the sun begins to set over the Northumberland Strait (pictured above), and serenity owns the moment in these relatively quiet expanses. The communities between New England and this aquatic link are few and literally far apart; other than Saint John and Halifax – each of which demands a generous detour from the route – population density seems an oxymoronic notion in this region.
My family lived in Gagnon from 1968 until 1970. My father managed an explosives plant there. My brother Karl was born in Gagnon, so we tease him today about not having a hometown. I'd like to visit the site again someday.

It is apparent that just as the native Indians took second place to the European / English hordes of "future Americans" so does the erection of a monument to the former take second place to the creation of the a monument to the leaders of the latter. Everything in its time and place - an order the often defies logic or importance. Love You. Dad

Seeing your photos makes me want to go back and see everything I missed. Guess I'll have to settle for Texas prairies and skies for now.

You captured Banff beautifully. It's so neat to see a picture that you took (from the cable car)that is almost identical to onesthat I took when I was there. It truly is spectacular!
